Who was Wilbury A. Crockett?

Mr. Crockett was a legendary English teacher who taught at Wellesley High School for 36 years. Sylvia Plath, class of 1950 and renowned poet and novelist, described his teaching as "an experience of inquiry and discovery not confined within classroom walls but reaching deeply into our minds and hearts."  For this reason, naming our library after Mr. Crockett seems like the perfect thing to do.
